Justifying the Exotic Θ
نویسنده
چکیده
The existence of a light S =+1 baryon resonance follows from Quantum Field Theory applied to baryons. This is illustrated in the Skyrme model (where Θ exists but is too strong) and in a new mean field approach where Θ arises as a consequence of three known resonances: Λ(1405), N(1440) and N(1535).

Prospects for Pentaquark Searches in e+e− Annihilations and γγ Collisions
Recent strong experimental evidence of a narrow exotic S = +1 baryon resonance, Θ+, suggests the existence of other exotic baryons. We discuss the prospects of confirming earlier experimental evidence of Θ+ and the observation of additional hypothetical exotic baryons in e+e− annihilations and γγ collisions at LEP and B Factories.
متن کاملThe anticharmed exotic baryon Θ c and its relatives
Motivated by the recent discovery of the exotic S = +1 narrow baryon resonance Θ+ at 1540 MeV, with quark content uud ds̄, we conjecture the existence of its anti-charmed analogue Θcwith quark content uuddc̄, and compute its likely properties. We rely on the recently constructed model of a novel kind of a pentaquark with an unusual color structure which provides a good approximation to the Θ+ mas...
متن کاملPentaquark implications for Exotic mesons
If the exotic baryon Θ(1540) is a correlated ududs̄ with J = 1 2 + , then there should exist an exotic meson, J = 1− θ(S = +2) → KK ∼ 1.6GeV with width O(10−100)MeV. The π1(1400; 1600) may be broad members of 10 ± 10 in such a picture. Vector mesons in the 1.4 1.7GeV mass range are also compared with this picture. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail:[email protected] e-mail:[email protected]
متن کاملThe Θ+ (1540) as a heptaquark with the overlap of a pion, a kaon and a nucleon
We study the very recently discovered Θ+ (1540) at SPring-8, at ITEP and at CLASThomas Jefferson Lab. We apply the same RGM techniques that already explained with success the repulsive hard core of nucleon-nucleon, kaon-nucleon exotic scattering, and the attractive hard core present in pion-nucleon and pion-pion non-exotic scattering. We find that the K −N repulsion excludes the Θ+ as a K −N s-...
متن کاملExotic baryon resonances in the Skyrme model
We outline how one can understand the Skyrme model from the modern perspective. We review the quantization of the SU(3) rotations of the Skyrmion, leading to the exotic baryons that cannot be made of three quarks. It is shown that in the limit of large number of colours the lowest-mass exotic baryons can be studied from the kaon-Skyrmion scattering amplitudes, an approach known after Callan and...
